The Chinese believe that prospective business partners should build a relationship first and, if successful, then commercial transactions will follow. The objective of developing close relationships is to build what the Chinese call Guanxi (pronounced gwan shee), which is essentially social, or business connections based on mutual interest and benefit. Merry's twenty years of experience means she knows the nuances of this important game!

Inital Research

 Because China is such a large country, the initial research and filtering is done on line and with phone calls. Jonni will use the tools we are all familiar with, Alibaba, Made in China, LinkedIn etc and Merry will use the Chinese search engines for cross checking. We will then come up with a report of manufactures that meet the requirements. This research we do for Free. Then it is up to you how far you want us to go in the next step.

Trade Shows 

We will identify any trade shows that are relevant to the products listed or you can advise us yourself. If appropriate in terms of distance and cost, we will attend. We will advise you beforehand, as this is a chargeable service. 

However, we encourage clients to come to these shows and, if that’s what you would like, we can look after all the arrangements in China including travel, hotels, translation and negotiations.

We have tried to keep this to an absolute minimum because we believe we can find what you are after, and so build a relationship of trust for future business development.

Factory Visit

Once at the Factory we are looking for a number of things.  Management Structure, Supply Chain, ISO and Relevant Certification, General Attitude and Pricing to name a few. We take Pictures and Videos which are all included in the Report

Normally, within a day or so, we will produce a Report that assists you in making your decisions.

Negotiation (optional)

To get the best prices and terms, we can negotiate with the suppliers on your behalf. We like to deal directly with the boss or the decision maker and Merry is experienced in this game of wits.
For example, we have to remember this factory is trying to keep the wheels turning, so could be more open to producing your product in one run and storing the order on site ready for your call off. It’s knowing what the other party is trying to achieve that gets the mutual deal done. Having a Western face and a Mandarin speaking negotiator is an effective way to get this information.

Order Tracking (optional)

We can track the production of your product with weekly reports which include photos and videos. If the Manufacturer knows there is someone watching, there are far fewer mistakes. If we pick up a problem at this stage, it also ensures that schedules are achieved, and shipment is on time.

Quality Inspection (optional)

Quality control is one of the most important processes to make sure that you get the products you ordered. 
Depending on your requirements, a plan can be drawn up as to the level of monitoring. There are four types of Inspection. Pre-Production Inspection, Mid Production Inspection, Post Production Inspection and Pre-Shipment & Loading Inspection. These costs can mount up, so a balanced assessment needs to be made. For example: A low-tech high-volume product might only require Mid Production and Pre-shipment Inspection as quality is unlikely to change in a continuous run. 

Shipping Arrangement (option)

Should the Manufacturer not be experienced in export, we have excellent connections with shipping agents/forwarders at different locations in China. We can match the right shipping option and channels for you. The options of shipping by Sea or Air would depend on the product category, weight, volume and urgency. We can also look after the export documents.
